located on the Colli Orientali del Friuli Venezia Giulia region

Around a hill guarded by its own genius loci, in Friuli's Colli Orientali (Eastern Hills) area, the Zorzettig family found the land of its dreams:  the vineyard.  There is no denying the place has a magic of its own, a charm that comes from overlapping traces of many ages and many generations:  the little church dedicated to San Giuseppe, built in Anno Domini 1522, is the visible evidence of such an ancient history.  The Zorzettigs wanted to enclose the old memories and the magic of the place into the name that signs their wines: "La Chiesetta".

Sauvignon - DOC (2005)

With a straw yellow color and greenish reflexes, the delicate aromatic perfume of this wine recalls yellow pepper, melon, and banana.  Its dry, yet elegant, cherishing and velvety.

Sauvignon goes well with appetizers, creams, and soups, but can also be enjoyed between meals.  Also a great accompaniment with seafood such as scampi, lobster, and crab.  Serve at a temperature between 46º- 50ºF.

Schioppettino - DOC (2005)

This red wine with violet shades is a full-bodied wine with a good fixed acidity. Additionally, it is fresh and citrusy with a perfume that recalls wild blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry.  With ageing it evolves into an elegant bouquet of underwood, musk, and aromatic wood.

Schioppettino is recommended for pasta and game.  Best served between 60º - 68ºF.

Refosco - DOC (2005)

This ruby red wine is tannic and nervy when new.  Its fruity vinous perfume has a distinct scent of raspberry and wild blackberry; its slightly herbaceous.  It refines and improves with the right ageing and takes on a pleasant somewhat bitter flavor.

It is a wine for all dishes, excluding fish.  It is particularly suitable with red meats, roasts, game, and mature cheeses.  Refosco should be served at room temperature.
